(Obituary from The Ironwood Daily Globe, Ironwood, Mich., 20 Sept. 1944) Eau Claire - Another gap has been made in the ranks of Wisconsin's chapter of the Grand Army of the Republic, with the death at his Osseo home of John W. Miller, 99. Miller served with Co B of the 16th Wisconsin Infantry and took part in Sherman's march to the sea. A son, Charles, of Chicago, survives him. John W. Miller enlisted at Menomonie, Wis., on Sep. 10, 1864, in Co. B, 16th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry. He mustered out on June 2, 1865.
