Marinette, WI - Charles H. Showard, 96, last surviving Civil War veteran in Marinette County died yesterday. Death was ascribed to general senility.

Charles H. Showard served as a Union sailor from May 16, 1863 to May 15, 1864, aboard the Union frigates Sabine and Niagara.
